RICHARDSON (1080 KRLD) - The city of Richardson has landed a new Technology and Innovation Hub.

The new offices from India-based Infosys Limited are scheduled to open by 2020 and should bring about 500 new jobs to the community.

Infosys is a technology services and consulting firm with offices around the world, including Plano. "We are excited to announce the expansion of our presence in Texas, which is another important step in our continued investment in driving digital transformation for American businesses," said COO Pravin Rao.

The Texas Enterprise Fund is offering the company a grant of just over $3 million. "Infosys' expansion in the city of Richardson will create hundreds of good jobs for Texans," said Governor Greg Abbott, "and I thank Infosys for their investment and look forward to building on our already strong partnership."

Infosys has two other Technology and Innovation Hubs, one in Indianapolis, Indiana and another in Raleigh, North Carolina.

"Infosys will benefit tremendously from the Telecom Corridor area's access to leading corporations across a variety of sectors, a deep pool of experienced tech talent and strong academic partners preparing the professionals of tomorrow," said Richardson Mayor Paul Voelker.
