IRVING (KRLD) - There's a change coming to city policy in Irving for their police officers.

Chief Jeff Spivey loosened up the restrictions on officers with tattoos saying that society has changed --- when it comes to the perception of tattoos.

In the past, the department's policy was that their officers couldn't have any visible tattoos. That all changed two weeks ago when the department decided to make a change because they were missing out on hiring some quality officers.

Officer James McLellan joined KRLD's David Rancken on Tuesday to discuss the decision.
