IRVING (KRLD) - Some people in Irving called the city after getting strange notices on their doors.

The City of Irving Water Utilities Department received calls about materials left on resident's homes Wednesday.

The materials listed a request for a water sample for a "Community Water Test." But, Isaac Vasquez with the City of Irving says, "We never require any kind of samples from our residents. The materials came from a third-party company that has no connection with the City of Irving."

He says the city tests the water daily to make sure it meets the required standards."When the city does put out notices it is clearly printed with the City of Irving logo," Vasquez added.

Vasquez says city employees would have a city-issued badge and drive a car with the city logo.

If you have questions, you can call the City of Irving at (972) 721-2600.
