ITALY, Texas (1080 KRLD) - The teenager accused of shooting a girl at Italy High School in January will be back in court this morning, this time as an adult.

17-year old Chad Padilla is accused of shooting 15-year old Noelle Jones on January 22nd at Italy High School.

Padilla was initially arrested as a juvenile. But a judge certified Padilla to face charges as an adult, which brought an indictment last month. Today's court appearance will be an arraignment in adult court.

Noelle Jones is still recovering from the wound that almost killed her.

During previous testimony, witnesses said Padilla had violent tendencies. They say Padilla walked into the school, found Jones and shot her. He is accused of firing at another student, but missing him.

Padilla remains in jail on $300,000 bond.
