FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Many Jews attending Shabbat services tonight and tomorrow morning can expect beefed-up security.

Last Saturday, a gunman killed 11 people at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Rabbi Andrew Bloom at Congregation Ahavath Shalom in Fort Worth says the temple always keeps security top of mind.

"Congregation Ahavath Shalom synagogue is always re-evaluating our security," says Rabbi Bloom, "because the most important thing is the safety of all those who enter our building.

"We already have steps in place, and we will be reviewing to see if there's any additional steps that we need to take," Bloom says.

Last night, congregation Ahavath Shalom hosted a packed interfaith service of unity in remembrance of the Pittsburgh victims.
