FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - A Tarrant County judge throws the book at a man who pleaded guilty to sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl.

Prosecutors say Crispin Suarez kidnapped the girl as she was walking home in January of 2017 and sexually assaulted her in a nearby park.

After pleading guilty a to aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault of a Child Under 14 and indecency with a child, the judge sentenced him to two life sentences plus 20 years.

Suarez told detectives he thought his actions were OK because the 12 year old was "flirtatious".

Sam Jordan with the Tarrant County DA's office says this sends a clear message that these types of crimes will not be tolerated in Tarrant County.

"The traditional stranger in the car, driving by and grabbing a child is very rare. That's what happened here. The prosecutor described it as every parents worst nightmare," she says.

The judge stated that since Suarez had admitted his guilt she would order the sentences be served concurrently rather than consecutively.
