FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Two days after being arrested for domestic violence, one of TCU's top players is booted off the team.

During his weekly news conference, coach Gary Patterson announced that KaVontae Turpin has played his last game for the Horned Frogs.

"If they cross the line, then there's always a penalty to be paid, so KaVontae won't be allowd to ever be on out football team anymore," Patterson told reporters.

Turpin was arrested on Sunday for allegedly beating his girlfriend -- dragging her across the parking lot at his apartment complex and slamming her to the ground.

He's free on $1000 bond.

This wasn't Turpin's first run-in with the law - back in March, he was arrested for domestic violence in New Mexico.
