Lawsuit Filed Against Bar For Allegedly Overserving Man That Shot 8 People

PLANO (1080 KRLD) - Relatives of the eight people killed in a Plano home massacre last September are suing the bar they say over-served accused shooter Spencer Hight.

The TABC report accuses The Local Public House in Plano of over-serving Spencer Hight before the shooting.

Hight later went to the Plano home of his estranged wife Meredith Hight, and shot and killed her and seven other people during a Cowboys game.

According to the report, bartenders noticed Hight, was highly intoxicated. Bartenders also noticed he was acting “weird” and had a knife and a gun.

Reports say another bartender and friend of Hight told investigators he had a big knife on the bar and was spinning it and said he had dirty work to do. But he was still served drinks anyway, and the bar’s owner told the bartenders not to call police.

Height was shot and killed by an officer who responded to the home following the shooting.
