LEWISVILLE (KRLD) - Lewisville police are hoping a clever social media post will help track down a bad guy.

"Valentine's Day is tomorrow and if this your bae, and he tries to give you some new bling, take a hard pass," officials wrote in a post on Facebook.

The unidentified man went into a jewelry store at Music City Mall and asked to look at a gold chain. While looking at that one, he asked to look at another one. Employees told him they could only show him one piece at a time but he managed to grab both necklaces and ran off.

The combined value of both necklaces is $3,598.

"We are all about having a great Valentine's Day. One that does not include the shiny new accessories of some silver bracelets. One that does not include reservations at our jail cell.  Remember: steal hearts, not jewelry," said Lewisville police public information coordinator, Lynn O'Donnell.

If you recognize the man, you are urged to call (972) 219-8477 (TIPS).
