MESQUITE (1080 KRLD) - After a lengthy chase, both on the road and on foot, a man has been captured in southwest Dallas overnight.

Late last night, Mesquite police tried to pull a car over but the driver hit the gas. Police got help from DPS troopers and Dallas County Sheriff's deputies.

The pursuit wound around Dallas County for quite awhile before the man bailed out in a neighborhood near I-35 and Laureland.

Running for it, the man ended up in Woody Branch Creek where he was able to hide out for some time.

It took some effort to find him and pull him out.

He's now locked up on a long list of charges.
