FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - The former boyfriend of an anti-domestic violence activist has been indicted for her murder.

A Tarrant County grand jury has indicted 35-year-old Nathaniel Mitchell in connection with the September murder of his then girlfriend, 36-year-old Donna Alexander.

Alexander was the creator of "The Anger Room" in Deep Ellum, where people are given the opportunity to vent their anger by destroying items with a bat.

Alexander's family said she created the Anger Room after being exposed to domestic violence herself.

Mitchell remains behind bars in the Tarrant County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
