DALLAS (1080 KRLD) -A federal judge sentenced Darius Fields of Dallas to 18 years in prison for a firearms case that police say is related to the kidnapping and murder of Shavon Randle.

The 13-year-old Lancaster girl was abducted two years ago. Police say Fields ordered her kidnapping and murder in retaliation for the theft of marijuana.

Shaquana Persley, Randle's mother, says the sentence isn't long enough.

While federal judge Barbara Lynn thinks Fields had something to do with the kidnapping and murder, she ruled federal prosecutors did not prove it.
