DENTON (1080 KRLD) - The gunman who wounded a man outside a football game in Carrollton last fall will not face trial.

A Denton County grand jury has returned two no-bills in the case. The grand jury considered charges of aggravated assault and bringing a weapon to a prohibited place for the shooting outside Hebron High School's football stadium September 27, 2018.

By refusing to indict, the grand jury decided there was not enough evidence to support either charge.

Police said the shooting followed a fight in the parking lot. The victim was not seriously wounded and did not want to press charges.

Still police were concerned that a gun was brought on school property in the first place and asked the grand jury to review the matter.

The shooter's name was never released.
