McKinney Student Arrested For Making Social Media Threats Toward School

MCKINNEY (1080 KRLD) - An 18-year-old is under arrest after making social media threats following a suicide at a North Texas high school last week. 

McKinney Police say Kyle Samuel, a student at McKinney Boyd high school, is the one behind a threatening post that was made in the days following the suicide at Mckinney North high school.

Samuel admitted to police that he posted about bringing a gun to school.

Police say hundreds of students tipped them off about the threat.

Samuel is charged with threatening to exhibit or use firearms in a school which could land him in jail for up to a year and or a $4,000 fine.
