Mercury Spill Contained At Coppell USPS Distribution Center

UPDATE (8/13): The facility has reopened

COPPELL (1080 KRLD) - Four gallons of mercury spilled at the US Postal Service processing and distribution center in Coppell.

Official say HazMat teams were called to the facility near Royal Lane and 635 about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The mercury was part of another product that was being shipped.

HazMat teams finished cleaning up at the center about 4:30 a.m. No one was hurt and operations returned to normal.

The postal service has not said what led to the spill.
