DALLAS (KRLD) - Crimestoppers is now offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the murder of a one-year-old boy Sunday morning in Dallas. Rory Norman was shot in his bedroom at about 3:40 a.m. Sunday.

"Not only are we brokenhearted, we are angry," Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall said in a news conference Sunday afternoon. "This one-year-old baby was killed due to senseless gun violence in this city that we are determined and aggressive about eradicating in 2020."

Hall says someone started shooting through the windows of the home in the 2900 block of Valentine St., in South Dallas.

"It was intentional; it was deliberate," Hall says. "He shot only into the bedrooms."

Norman's uncle, a 20-year-old man, was also shot, but he was taken to the hospital in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Police had not yet made any arrests by Monday morning. They had also not identified a motive.

"We will not rest until we find out exactly what happened," Hall said. "Rory would have been two years old. He deserved to be able to live and enjoy the City of Dallas."

Norman was the third person to be killed in Dallas in 2020. Last week, Hall announced a plan to reduce violent crime.

"I am angry, and this [expletive> has to stop," she said.

"A shameless act of gun violence has taken the life of yet another innocent child in our city. This is intolerable, and as the father of two young boys, I am both saddened and outraged," Mayor Eric Johnson wrote on Twitter.

Monday morning, Crimestoppers was offering $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
