FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - American Airlines has agreed to a $22 million fine in settling a dispute over what the Justice Department calls falsified records pertaining to carrying the mail.

The Justice Department says American reported incorrect times for mail delivery or for transferring to foreign postal services.

An airlines spokesman says the issue has since been resolved.
