ANNA (KRLD) - Some parents in Anna are concerned after a youth baseball coach was arrested on federal gun charges.

Jason Conn faces two counts of a felon in possession of a firearm. He had previously been arrested on drug and gun charges.

Conn also happens to be a volunteer baseball coach with the Anna sports group and parents aren't happy about it.

"Who are we allowing and what kind of role model is this for an 8 or 9-year-old that's exposed to this person on a minimum of three times a week for hours at a time," one unnamed parent that removed her child from the league told 1080 KRLD.

Clark Miller is president of the Anna Sports group and says they are currently taking a look at how their background checks are done.

"We're going to do a better job of this and we're going to make sure these things don't happen again in the future," Miller said. "We apologize that it happened, we felt really bad. We're disappointed in ourselves, for sure. We're going to move forward proactively to make sure it doesn't happen anymore.

Miller added that they will change their background check policy from every two years to every six months and are taking a look at the coaches already in place.
