DALLAS (KRLD) - DFW International Airport is offering some more information to travelers to improve their journey. The airport's smartphone app is now offering information about the wait times at all 16 of the airport's security checkpoints.

"If you like to minimize the amount of time through a checkpoint, you can go on the app and see which checkpoint has the lowest amount of time," said Julio Badin, Senior Vice President Customer Experience at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

The airport has sensors at each TSA checkpoint to measure heat and movement, which the app then uses to estimate the number of people in line and how long getting through the line will take. "They're pretty accurate," said Badin. "They definitely give you a good idea."

The DFW International Airport app is available for free in both the Apple Store and Google Play Store. The security wait time estimates could also be available on the airport's web site this summer.
