Big 12 Once Again Cancels Football Media Days

Once again, the Irving-based Big 12 Conference has canceled its football media days because of uncertainty over the Coronavirus.

Monday was the rescheduled date for the traditional media availability of coaches and players. But in an email yesterday, Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby writes: "There continues to be a lot more questions than answers about what the football season will look like. A media day is intended to talk football and the prospects for the season. Part of that discussion is who you will be playing and when. With the on-going consideration of scheduling models by our Board of Directors, this is the best course of action at this time."

The Big 12 is the last of the five Power Conferences to announce what adjustments are planned because of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Yesterday, the Southeast Conference, which includes Texas A&M, announced it will play a 10-game season with conference games only.

The ACC will also play a 10-game conference schedule plus one additional game allowing for long time rivalry matchups like Kentucky vs Louisville, Florida vs Florida State, South Carolina vs Clemson and Georgia versus Georgia Tech.
