DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Dallas Police are investigating a woman's death as a homicide after her body was found following a house fire.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews were called out to a home on Elsie Fay Heggins Street just before 3:30 Friday morning. They found the home engulfed in flames.

When they got the fire out, crews found the body of a 38-year-old woman inside the home.

Dallas Police have a preliminary identification on the victim but will wait for the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office to make an official ruling on her identity and cause of death.

Police say the fire started when someone threw a container filled with a flammable liquid at the home.

They're asking anyone with information about the case to contact Detective Christopher Walton at 214-671-3632
