DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - An ethics controversy now swirls around Dallas City Councilman Casey Thomas .

He got crossways with the Dallas Ethics Advisory Commission because of an item that he left off mandatory disclosure forms -- namely 16-hundred dollars' worth of concert tickets he received from VisitDallas, the not-for-profit group that seeks to promote tourism and conventions in the city.

The Dallas Morning News quotes Thomas's lawyer saying this ethics complaint makes what she calls "...unfounded assumptions..." about the gifts.

Thomas acknowledges he omitted the gifts but claims it was a simple mistake which has since been rectified.
