Dallas City Councilman Jaime Resendez is ready to bring in outside resources to address the problem of dangerous street racing in his district, which includes Pleasant Grove.

Resendez says one idea is to enlist the help of the Texas Department of Public Safety, with Troopers assisting Dallas Police in addressing the issue.

Resendez tells KRLD News he has spoken with Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall, who is open to the idea of DPS involvement. That's despite the fact many south Dallas residents objected to the agency's role in a crackdown on crime in that part of the city earlier this year.

Councilman Resendez talked about the street racing issue - and potential solutions for it - with KRLD's Chris Sommer.
