GRAPEVINE (1080 KRLD) - Turns out DFW Airport is an increasingly popular option for the homeless seeking shelter on a cold night.

It's a fairly recent trend, but word spread on the street that the airport was not hassling people who came in to spend the night.  The homeless begin to arrive in the early evening as temperatures begin to drop.

They often set up in the waiting areas near the baggage carousels.

Other options exist, of course. Overnight, Dallas opened up the Jonnson Central Library with cots for the homeless.

Also, normally a daytime outreach center, Our Calling opened as a shelter overnight.

In Fort Worth, Hand of Hope made transportation available to homeless shelters.
