Dog Back With Owners After Being Sent To Japan By United

DALLAS (KRLD) - A dog that had been mistakenly sent to Japan by United Airlines is back home with his family Friday.

Irgo, a German Shephard, was supposed to land in Kansas City with his owners on Tuesday, but United sent him to Japan instead

According to CBS News, United flew Irgo back to the U.S. on a private plane. The cost of a flight such as that is more than $90,000, reports CBS News' Valdimir Duthiers.

"It feels absolutely amazing to finally have him back. It's been a long four days," said the Kara Swindle, Irgo's owner.

United said the mixup occurred when the dog's family had a connecting flight through Denver.

The Swindle's arrived at the Kansas City airport to discover that Irgo was missing and that a Great Dane was sent in his place.
