DALLAS (KRLD) - The three dogs responsible for attacking a 57-year-old Dallas man, have been euthanized.

Ronald Bell was walking down Beckleyview Avenue in Oak Cliff on Saturday, when he was suddenly attacked by the dogs that had gotten out of their enclosure. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Many in the neighborhood say its a familiar story and feel those like the elderly are especially at risk.

"When they get out of the yards, these elderly people don't move that fast, so the dogs have no problems. They are sitting ducks," says one woman.

The dogs will be tested for rabies.

The Dallas Animal Services got the go-ahead to present to the City Council his new and much tougher restrictions on aggressive and dangerous dogs.

One neighbor feels something more needs to be done, or a child may be next.

"Lots of people are around when they get on the buses, but when they play in the yard or walking home, the children are alone. The dogs have no problem targeting them," she says.
