DALLAS (KRLD) - Relatives of a man who was shot and killed by a Farmers Branch Police officer earlier this month staged a demonstration at the courthouse in Dallas today.

Prosecutors have referred the case to a Dallas County Grand Jury for possible criminal charges.

An officer shot and killed 35-year-old Juan Moreno Junior on June 12th while he was driving a stolen pickup truck at a shopping center. At the time, police said he was driving the truck at toward the office. Moreno's relatives say the surveillance video shows him attempting to drive around the officer.

"We're trying to get justice," said Moreno's father, who is also named Juan. "From what I see on the videos, he was murdered. I'm trying to get people like that out of the police department so he won't do something like this to other families."

Moreno says he wants the officer to lose his job and to face criminal charges.
