FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - About 60 firefighters responded to a fire at a restaurant in West Fort Worth Thursday morning. They were called about 4:45 a.m. to the Spring Creek Barbeque location near Camp Bowie West Boulevard and Las Vegas Trail.

When they arrived and saw smoke coming from the building, firefighters called for a second alarm.

"This is in the corner of an L-shaped shopping center, so when we arrived, there was the possibility it got into the attic and started spreading to the other units," says the Fort Worth Fire Department's Mike Drivdahl.

Drivdahl says they contained the fire to the kitchen of the Spring Creek Barbeque.

"It took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control, and no injuries were reported," he says.

Drivdahl says most of the damage was limited to the kitchen, but crews fanned out to other parts of the shopping center to make sure the fire had not spread through duct work. Investigators are now looking for the cause.
