A Fort Worth family has found themselves caught in the middle of President Trump’s extended immigration ban.

Noelia Ibarra, 56, was in Mexico to finalize the requirement to get her green card. She had all the other waivers and only needed a couple bits of paperwork from the consulate in Mexico when President Trump issued his first ban on Visas in April, her family said. It left Ibarra stranded there with everyone else in her family back in Fort Worth.

"We had all the legal paperwork approved and ready to go." said Diana Tejada, Ibarra's daughter who is a U.S. citizen. "Our President changed the travel ban."

The president’s April 22 order was meant to protect US jobs during the pandemic. Last week the order was extended through the end of the year.

"Many other families are suffering from this, and we don't think it's fair." Tejada said.
