The Fort Worth ISD Board of Trustees has passed the plan to open the 2020-21 school year on September 8th, with the first four weeks of online instruction by a vote of 8-1.

Principals are already back at work getting campuses ready for online learning, and next month teachers attend more training sessions to help improve online lessons.

The district will provide hot spots for students without reliable internet connections.

And the district is making plans to provide meals to students who rely on free lunch.

During two hours of public comment this morning, the majority of speakers urged the school board to keep campuses closed for the first several weeks; but some, including a pair of students, asked the board to reopen campuses.
