Fort Worth Police Hope New Pictures Will Produce Leads in Murder Case

FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Police in Fort Worth have released new pictures of a woman who was found murdered in 2013. They're asking anyone who recognizes her to contact investigators at 817-392-4340.

They've been trying to identify the victim since her remains were discovered along Calmont Avenue. "A crew doing construction in the area found a human skull. They stopped what they were doing and notified police," said Detective Kyle Sullivan. A search of the nearby area turned up a shallow grave with the rest of the body.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office concluded that the body was that of a Hispanic female between 21 to 35 years old. She had long, wavy brown hair.

Investigators recently tried two different techniques to produce more detailed pictures of her likely appearance. They used an outside lab to conduct DNA phenotyping tests to predict her physical characteristics. They also turned to an artist with the Texas Department of Public Safety, who created a picture based on the existing remains. The two pictures are similar.

Investigators have also released a picture of a blouse the woman was wearing when she was buried. Their goal is to generate new leads in the case.

"I hope that somebody is able to recognize the picture...put two and two together..and contact the police department," said Detective Sullivan.
