FORT WORTH (KRLD) - There's a little try before you buy event going on this weekend. But, what you're trying out are... dogs.

Fort Worth Animal Care and Control is sponsoring its second "Out and About Field Trip" for more than a hundred dogs at the shelter.

You can pick up a dog from the shelter to just take it out for a day outside the four walls.

Tony Hiller from Animal Care and Control says all the dogs will have a harness or a leash, a backpack full of treats for you to share, and a map of dog friendly places that you can visit on your excursion.

You even get a report card to let the shelter know how the dog behaved on the field trip.

The shelter would also love it if you take a lot of pictures of the time out. And if you decide that you could adopt the dog yourself, well that would be even better.
