DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A judge has a hearing for Friday to decide whether the judge in the Amber Guyger murder case should be allowed to decide whether the District Attorney should be held in contempt of court.

Judge Tammy Kemp initially wanted Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot to appear in Court last month to explain why he should not be held in contempt of court. Kemp was upset that Creuzot appeared on a TV station talking about the Guyger murder trial when she had issued a gag order.

But just before the hearing, Creuzot moved to have Judge Kemp recused, claiming she was biased against him.

An outside judge, Judge Robert Brotherton, has been brought in and the hearing that's scheduled for Friday is to decide whether Kemp should hear the contempt case.

Amber Guyger is the police officer who was convicted of murder in the death of neighbor at her apartment complex.
