PLANO (1080 KRLD) - The funeral is Monday morning for the 16 year old boy killed at a party earlier this month.

Marquel Ellis Jr. went to Allen High School; he was killed at a party in Plano November 16.

Family and friends gathered outside the high school Saturday to hold a vigil and release balloons in Ellis' honor.

"He always had a glow as a kid," said his father, Marquel Ellis Sr. "Ever since he came out, he had a glow."

"The lives he touched and the people he changed, that's what this is about," says Liam Thorton, a friend of Ellis.

Ellis' family held a wake at One Community Church in Plano Sunday evening. His funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at the church and is open to the public.

Two suspects, Christian Hill, 18, and Kemond Smith, 17, have been charged with murder. Monday morning, they were both still listed in Collin County Jail on $250,000 bail.
