FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - The Fort Worth school board is going to fight the re-instatement of a teacher who was fired because of her tweets about illegal immigrants.

Georgia Clark appealed to the Texas Education Agency and an Independent Hearing Examiner ruled in her favor, writing that the district's "proposed termination of the continuing contract of Georgia Clark is not justified."

But last night, Trustees voted to appeal the TEA decision that Clark be restored to her job.

In May, Clark was sacked after some of her tweets became public. One said: "Mr. President, Fort Worth Independent School District is loaded with illegal students from Mexico. Carter-Riverside High School has been taken over by them."
