Garland Police Searching For Hit And Run Suspect

DALLAS (KRLD) - Garland police are looking for a man they say is responsible for a deadly hit and run accident.

Police responded to a hit and run crash at the intersection of Jupiter Road and Forest Lane. 

Officers found a Toyota 4Runner, and 47-year-old mother of two, Joyce Cawis, unconscious inside. She was transported to a hospital but later died

Surveillance video showed a black, four-door Dodge Ram pickup speeding through the intersection and slamming into the driver's side of the 4Runner.

The driver of the Ram exited the vehicle and fled the scene without rendering aid

Investigators have identified 27-year-old Edgar Alfonso Ugalde as the driver of the Ram pickup.  An arrest warrant for failure to stop and render aid has been issued for his arrest.
