DALLAS (KRLD) - North Texas drivers are paying a nickel more at the gas pump than they were last week, a quarter more than last year. Daniel Armbruster with Triple-A Texas says gas prices are up statewide.

"The reason for this is we've seen record demand for the month of March. We're also seeing a decrease in gasoline inventory. So that's putting a squeeze a little bit on supplies. Economics 101, more people wanting gas, and less supply, prices are going to go up."

The average price for a gallon of gas in Texas is $2.35.
