The Houston Food Bank Had To Dump Two Million Pounds Of Food

DALLAS (KRLD) - Amy Ragan with the Houston Food Bank says a fan broke where the food is stored.

This cut a line feeding ammonia coolant. Ragan says, "This ammonia settled in on all that food and contaminated the food."

says this affected produce and other perishables. Ragan says, "We've had significant response. We've had a number of offers from corporations to provide volunteers or help us replenish the lost food. "
