An Irving health data company has abruptly gone out of business in the middle of an important study on how immune systems respond to the Coronavirus.

EMSI Examination Management Services was tasked with collecting about a thousand blood samples from across the country.

But now, it's clear the company closed its doors for good a week ago today ahead of the Independence Day holiday weekend.

This puts thousands of employees out of work.

Experts also suggest the closure will cause delays in clinical studies.
