IRVING (KRLD) - An Irving couple has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of human trafficking.

Police say a woman was able to escaped from a home in the 200 block of Rolston Ave. on Sunday. She told authorities she had been kidnapped from California last year by Devanshu Gupta and America Anderson and forced into prostitution by the couple.

"We were able to identify that there was an additional juvenile that was still back at the location and we were able to rescue her from that circumstance," says James McLellan with police.

He says the two were burned and beaten when they didn't comply with the couples demands. They were also given drugs to facilitate the sex acts, which police say the couple would set up through ads online.

"When the couple found texts between the women that they were trying to escape, they were beaten and burned with a hot knife," McLellan says.

Police are looking to see if there are more women who have been victimized by the couple.

Both Gupta and Anderson are behind bars facing multiple sex trafficking charges. Bond has been set at $350,000.
