DALLAS (KRLD) - The Amber Guyger trial will remain in Dallas.

Judge Tammy Kemp made her ruling Monday, disagreeing with the former Dallas police officer's defense team, who asked for a change of venue due to the popularity of the story in North Texas.

A jury of 12 people was selected Friday. Eight of the jurors said they had heard of the case and the other four said they hadn't.

Guyger is accused of murdering Botham Jean, who she shot last year in his own apartment.

Guyger told investigators she thought it was her apartment and she believed Jean to be an intruder.

The trial is set to begin Monday, September 23.
