FRISCO (KRLD) - Frisco-based software development company Code Authority has been creating tech entrepreneurs for the past seven years with its national seed accelerator competition and startup conference, CodeLaunch.

CodeLaunch is a one-day startup event at the Comerica Center in Frisco on July 31st. Hundreds of aspiring tech entrepreneurs apply to compete for the right to be paired up with a professional software development team for 3 days. The ideas that are chosen will leave with an MVP (minimally viable product) which is worth thousands of dollars in development and consulting.

The event has grown over the past seven years and now the competition gets several hundred applications from all across the country and the globe. Anybody that has a technology startup and idea that has pitch deck and can explain their idea is eligible. It doesn’t cost any money to apply and no equity is given up. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 31st at midnight. You can go to codelaunch.com to apply.

"We'd love more DFW and Texas startups to apply," said Jason W. Taylor, founder of Code Authority and CodeLauch.

Taylor launched his software development company, Code Authority, 18 years ago.

"I noticed a trend of meeting and encountering early stage startups whose technology was all messed. The decisions they'd made ruined their chances for success and caused them to be in a bad placed so we created CodeLaunch to help some of the best ideas come to life and keep those startups from making bad decisions," Taylor said.
