FORT WORTH (KRLD) - Fort Worth police ID'd a man they say held three teens hostage during a standoff Thursday.

19-year-old Markevvion Cannon went to the Broadmoor apartments to visit an ex-girlfriend and their infant child. However, police say his ex had a protective order out against him.

She fled with the baby in tow, but a 12-year-old a 15-year-old and a 19-year-old were caught inside.

When police arrived Cannon fired at officers.

Eventually, SWAT went to the third floor and confronted Cannon who was using one of the hostages as a shield. When SWAT stormed the apartment one fired at Cannon striking him in the head and killing him.

Cannon had a long criminal history, including charges of assault and theft of a firearm. He was wanted by police, on active warrants for continued violence against family members, violation of a protective order and possessing a prohibited substance in a correction facility.
