FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - The Fort Worth Fire Department says one man needed to be flown to Parkland Hospital after a fire Thursday morning. The fire started about 4:30 a.m. at a business on E. Belknap, near Beach Street.

"When they arrived on scene, there was fire showing from the rear of the building," says the Fort Worth Fire Department's Mike Drivdahl. "Our crews made an interior attack in that building."

Drivdahl says several people were inside the game room. Most escaped, but crews found one man who had been injured.

"Our firefighters rescued that victim out of the building. They did begin immediate medical care on the patient," he says.

That patient was taken by helicopter to Parkland Hospital's burn unit in critical condition. No one else was hurt. The fire department is now looking for the cause of the fire.
