DALLAS (KRLD) - Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is helping Dallas ISD schools impacted by last Sunday’s tornadoes, by donating $100,000 to the cause.

Mita Havlick executive director of the Dallas Education Foundation says Cuban contacted the mayor to set up the donation.

"It just won't end there. Perhaps some of his players can come to our schools and read to our kids. Those are the things that give emotional support. Those are things you can't always give," she says.

Three schools were destroyed during the tornado outbreak.

Electricity was restored on the campuses of Jose May Elementary, Benjamin Franklin and Medrano Middle Schools, and Hillcrest High on Wednesday afternoon.

The Cowboys are also helping out, by working with the Salvation Army to raise money for the district.
