National Weather Service IDs 9 Tornadoes in Sunday's Storm

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The National Weather Service in Fort Worth now says nine tornadoes touched down Sunday night in North Texas. The largest was the EF-3 that hit north Dallas with peak winds of 140 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service says that tornado formed near State Highway 348 and Luna Road and tracked to the east-northeast. It had a continuous track for 32 minutes and traveled 15 miles.

An EF-2 tornado with estimated maximum winds of 135 mph hit the southwestern side of Garland.

Rowlett, Rockwall, Midlothian and Elmo (in Kaufman County) all had EF-1 tornadoes. There were also EF-0 tornadoes in Wills Point (in Van Zandt County), Ferris and Kaufman. Those tornadoes had estimated peak winds of up to 85 miles per hour.
