Need A Texas Driver License? It's About To Get Easier

    DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- The Texas Department of Public Safety is expanding services.

    DPS says it is putting back into place in-office services for driver license and identification card renewal and replacement.

    But, you have to make an appointment. The agency says it's dealing with  huge backlog because offices were closed during the COVID-19  pandemic. 

    DPS says it will be offering Saturday appointments on certain dates. You can book an appointment for a certain day and time up to six months in advance.

    On that day, you can check-in using the kiosk inside or from your cell phone. You can also go to for possible online transactions.
