DALLAS (1080 RKLD) - A formerly empty warehouse in the Dallas Design District is transforming into a brand new live music venue.

The Hifi Dallas is the fist live music venue in Dallas' Design District, but it's not the first venue in Dallas controlled by Live Nation Entertainment.

The concert producer and promoter also runs the House of Blues in Victory Park and the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, but Live Nation representatives say they wanted a more intimate and sound-centered venue.

Live Nationa teamed up with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to design The HiFi Dallas.

Live Nation's Ben Weedon says the company has spared no expense creating what he calls 'an elevated experience.'

Weedon says the bands, and the fans, should be able to tell the difference.

The venue seats up to 1,000 people and is set to open in May, right next door to the Dallas Mavericks’ practice facilitity near downtown Dallas.
