The study ranked 162 majors based on a number of factors including the median annual income and the unemployment rate for that major.

Adrian Garcia with Bankrate.com says, "The top two are Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Nuclear Engineering ranks second."

Garcia says Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering majors early a median annual salary of $90,000.

He says Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Sciences and Administration majors rank third on the lists, Genetics ranks fourth and Electrical Engineering ranks fifth.

Garcia says, "Drama and Theater Arts is the least valuable college major. Those with a Drama and Theater Arts degree earn the fourth lowest median annual salary $35,500 and face a 5.2% unemployment rate."

Overall, he says Arts degrees comprise a majority of the bottom of the ranks, thanks to low salaries and high unemployment.
