DALLAS (KRLD) - Operation Care, a Dallas-based non-profit focusing on the needs of impoverished children and the homeless, is making preparations for their huge Christmas Gift 2019 event, taking place Saturday, December 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Founder and President, Susie Jennings says the organization is preparing to serve upwards of 12,000 people on the day, including around 6,000 children from Dallas Independent School District.

Operation Care is always very bold in their goals to help those in need.  This year they are taking twice as many children as normal, and are counting on the generosity of North Texans to bridge the financial gap.

"We are expecting for sure about 6,000 children and about 6,000 poor or homeless people," says Jennings.

The biggest needs Operation Care has in completing this huge undertaking are: financial donations, large coats for men, and toys for children.
